On the Mohs hardness scale glass is harder than steel. Mohs hardness tests the ability of one material to scratch another. Steel is rated 4 to 4.5 and glass is rated at 6 to 7.

Glass is harder than steel, but it is more fragile and will break much easier. There are many different ways to measure strength. Here is a wikipedia article about the strength of materials: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_of_materials
Steel is stronger because, its manufacturing process is different, & glass is more brittle material, whereas the steel can withstand shear, compression stresses, but glass will break in these cases.
Glass can be spun into fiber and woven into cloth and molded together with resin (it's called fiberglass) with stronger characteristics per weight than steel. Many automobile and aircraft components are now made from fiberglass (or carbon fiber or Kevlar) due to it's higher strength per weight ratio. This includes military and supersonic aircraft.
Now researchers from Caltech and the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have created a form of glass that has both qualities. It's stronger and tougher than steel or, indeed, any other known material
I, think steel is more elastic compared to glass
Sometimes water can be stronger than glass but most times glass can be stronger than water.
Most types of glass are harder than pure soft iron or mild steel, but are softer than hardened steel.
steel is stronger
Glass is harder than steel.
Diamond is harder than glass. anonymous@oola.com
iron travels faster
The Glass is so hard to push underwater because air has less density than water, so it floats. This causes the glass to have an air bubble inside of it, thus making the glass harder and harder to push down.
Diamonds are denser and harder than glass, as diamonds can score glass - as in a diamond glass-cutter.
sound passes fastest through glass
Glass. Steel, iron and tin are metals.
the harder one
Not at all i had one not hard at all.
glass
iron is harder to defeeted
Cast Iron is less likely to break than glass and provides a better cooking surface
an iron bar is harder to bend.
Yes, Absolutely......... Gold is softer than Iron... Gold becomes Harder because of other components that is being added like Silver and Copper. They add these components to add strength into the Jeweleries.
diamond is harder if it can be scratched by a rock its glass
Iridium is a 6.5 on the MOHs scale. This makes it about as hard as glass, silicon, or iron pyrite. It is harder than titanium or manganese, but softer than quartz or vanadium.
because its heavy
Iron is generally harder than bronze, but variations in chemistry or impurities can vary the hardness in both materials.
