Buddhism , as a rule, is free from mandatory interpretations of what is best or required. Meditation is not compulsory, each person used the tools that accomplish his own path to enlightenment. Each school of Buddhism advocates styles of meditative practices. There are many types of meditation in Buddhism each with a unique intention, approach and focus (It should be pointed out that some avoid any focus). Even the postures used - sitting , standing and walking - vary with purpose and ability.
