the three wise men
Answer:
None of them.
Scripture states that the "wise men" [the exact number of them is undisclosed] came to Jesus' "house" as many as TWO YEARS two years after His birth... not when He was an "infant" in the stable.
"And when they were come INTO THE HOUSE, they saw the YOUNG CHILD [not infant in the manger] with Mary His mother..." (Matt.2:11).
Herod subsequently ordered the murder of: "...all the children that were in Bethlehem [assuming this means 'male' children ?], and in all the coasts thereof, FROM TWO YEARS OLD AND UNDER, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men." (verse 16)
The number of wise men isn't mentioned in The Bible. Men have made it into a story of "three wise men," from the number of gifts mentioned [verse 11].
There could have been "two" wise men... or "twenty-two"... who knows? And any number of them could have presented multiples of the same gifts.
But, however many "wise men" there may have been... none of them appeared to the "infant" Jesus in the manger. They arrived at Jesus' parents' "house" as many as two years later.
The identities of the wise men is not disclosed in the Bible.
The number of them is not disclosed either.
All we know is that "wise men" came and gave gold, frankincense and myrrh.
We have no good reason to suppose that there were three, or that one person only gave one gift.
However many there were, more than one could have given any of the gifts.
If there had been ten of them and three gave gold, four gave frankincense and three gave myrrh, the phrasing of the Gospel would not be wrong.
We do not know the answer to this. We do not even know how many wise men came to see Jesus and none of them were named. We only know that wise men came from the East and they brought presents to Him.
