The farmers in the great plains crops failed and they went banked rupt
In 1934, strong winds blew the soil into huge clouds of dust that blocked the sun for days, smothered crops, destroyed pasture lands and in some places could bury a barn in 3 to 6 feet of dust. By the late 1930s, the Dust Bowl covered more than 25,000 square miles. Ruined farms sent farming families to the cities for work. even in places where crops could grow, the Great Depression kept prices so low that it wasn't worth harvesting them. Other times, grasshopper plagues attacked the crops.
the great depression is similar to the recent because the stock market crashed by people investing in things that they could not afford much like in recent years when people would build houses then not be able to may for them but it is different becdause back thern the banks would not be able to give back any money you invesated and now they have to pay you back so much. Also it is different because lately we weere in a reccesion not a depression so it was not as bad and horrible as the great depression not to mention during thatb time was the dust bowl in america and world war two that america was part of in europe
It affects the economy possitively (well it should like most sports) because as Economic theory(s) tell us. The more people the spend, the more it helps economic growth and expansion. Superbowl / other sports encourage economic growth however it may increase the chance of there being another recession. Handy fact going around, something like this, 40% of Americas wealth is owned by 2% of the population. So as we feed money into Superbowl or whatever. This increases the wealth gap and can lead to a recession. (what we believe is starting now) We've had a few recessions before shoudn't be too bad, I think the government should tax the big companies / big sharks more so it's easier for the actual society.
the great depression was a sad time for all Americans. the dust bowl was just another problem and caused hunger in many cases. it also caused poverty.
