Great Britain and France in North America
France, America, and England (Great Britain)
Britain established itself as the dominant power in North America, defeating the French and the Indian Tribes (excepting the Iroquois, who joined with the British). Britain's treasury was exhausted and so they began to tax the colonies with the Stamp/Sugar/etc. Acts (the Quartering Act acts more like an indirect tax). This British overtaxing of the colonies of America to help pay off their debt ultimately led to the American Revolution. France ceded Quebec (French Canada) and gave most of its American land to Britain. France lost most of its colonies. Britain and Spain obtained nearly all of France's possessions in North America. Britain controlled all the land from the Atlantic coast to the Mississippi River.
