The organisms of cat family
According to the food web which organism is an herbivore? A.producersB.primary consumersC.secondary consumersD.tertiary consumers
Carnivore is an organism above herbivore in the food chain, as it consumes other animals for energy.
producer----> herbivore----> carnivore
a four link food chain is a food chain that only has four organism links, these include: producer - usually a plant primary consumer - a herbivore secondary consumer - a carnivore tertairy (ter-sha-ry) consumer - usually an omnivore (both herbivore and carnivore) sometimes there is one other organism link and that is decomposer - a bacteria or fungi
I would say Herbivore, because the herbivore would first eat the plants, and then the carnivore would eat the herbivore.........something like that... ~hope it helps! ^_~
An example of a food chain with a plant would be: grass (plant) - grasshopper (herbivore) - frog (carnivore) - snake (carnivore) - hawk (carnivore). In this chain, the plant (grass) is consumed by the herbivore (grasshopper), which is then consumed by the frog, and so on up the chain.
At the bottom of any food chain is a producer and at the top is a consumer.
Meat belongs to any food chain. In any ecosytem there will always be a carnivore or an herbivore
well, considering the fact that sea stars are both animal and plant. the are omnivores because they are cannibals and eat on both sides of the chain
Eliminating any animal would greatly affect the food chain. eliminating the carnivore would result in an abundance of the herbivore that the carnivore eats. this wouild result in much less of the plant that the herbivore eats, not enough for all of them out there.
At the top. So let's say there are lots of plants in Africa, and an herbivore eats those. Then, a carnivore (lion) comes along and eats that herbivore. And then at the very top of the pyramid there are scavengers (vultures) who just eat what's left of the herbivore after the carnivore is done with it.
More energy is lost by the Carnivore eating the Herbivore because of the 10% rule. When the Herbivore eats the plant, he gains 10% of the plants energy, but when the Carnivore eats the Herbivore, the Carnivore is getting 10% of the plants 10% from the Herbivore.
