The four outer planets, also called giant planets or Jovian planets - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune - are all largely made up of gases and liquids, and have no solid surface. However, this doesn't mean that they're just four giant clouds! All four planets have a complicated internal structure, and while they have no solid surface, the actual gas parts don't extend very far into the planets.
Jupiter and Saturn, the gas giants, are made up mostly of hydrogen and helium - gases. They have thick, gaseous atmospheres, but further down the pressure rises and the hydrogen and helium are compressed into a liquid. Even further down, hydrogen molecules are broken up into a liquid of hydrogen atoms, which behaves as a metal - swirling currents within this "liquid metallic hydrogen" are presumably responsible for the magnetic fields around Jupiter and Saturn. Perhaps even further down hydrogen and helium could be compressed into solids! The two planets are thought to have cores made up of metal, rock and "ices" (water, methane, ammonia etc. - things that are frozen into ice at the temperatures in outer space. Inside the gas giants, things are very hot, but the immense pressures keep everything solid.)
Uranus and Neptune also have no solid surface, and have thick atmospheres of hydrogen and helium gas, with traces of other things like methane and ammonia (methane in the atmospheres of Uranus and Neptune absorbs red light and is responsible for the two planets' blue-green colours.) However, the interiors of the two planets are largely composed of ices (the temperatures are high, but the pressures are low, allowing these "ices" to be liquid.) For this reason Uranus and Neptune are often called "ice giants," although they are made up of liquid and gas rather than solid ice. Both ice giants probably have a core of molten rock and metal, like Jupiter and Saturn.
Jupiter and Saturn are mainly composed of gases.
Not all of the planets are made of solids. Some planets are made up of gas that includes hydrogen and helium and are called gas giants. Jupiter. Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune are gas giants.
The four outer, or gas planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. They are mainly made up of Hydrogen and Helium gas.
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. No human has ever been on these planets. There is nosurface, so they would keep on falling because these planets are made of gas.
The four gas giants are:
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Jupiter is called a gas planet
The four planets that are made of gas are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
There are four planets that are made out of gas: Jupiter, Saturn, Urans and Neptune. These planets are called the "gas giants" . The other four planets (Earth, Mercury, Venus and Mars) are mostly made out of rock.
atmosphere is made up of gases in all planets. But if you mean planets that are mostly atmosphere, then those are gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus)
A gas giant is a large planet that is not primarily made up of rock or other solid matter. Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn are gas giants in our Solar System. However, some scientists refer to Uranus and Neptune as "ice giants". Planets that over 10 Earth masses are termed giant planets.
Gas planets are those planets which are not made up of rocks or materials. They are composed of gases only. Eg- Jupiter
the are gaseous planets aka gas giants... so they are made up of all gas's
No, those are the outer planets.
it is made up of gas and liquids.
There are 4 rocky planets and 4 gaseous planets in the solar system
No, the inner planets are the terrestrial or rocky planets. The outer planets are the gas giant planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. They are mainly made up of Hydrogen and Helium gas.
it is made up of gas and liquids.
The atmosphere of the gas giants is usually made up of mostly of hydrogen and what?
terrestrial are planets that are the inner planets since there are made up of rock. but on the other hand. the outer planets are the gas giants. or the outer planets. they are made up of various gasses.
A terrestrial planet is made of rock, in which there is life on. However, a gaseous planet is made of gas, in which there is no life on.
Gas planets are those planets which are not made up of rocks or materials. They are composed of gases only. Eg- Jupiter
The sun is made up of gas and the planets turn around it, whereas the planets are made up of what we find in the ground. Also, the sun is ALOT bigger and hotter than the planets.
because the outer planets are made of gas.
