In the last election, the Democrat Party continued control of the US Senate. (as of Jan 2013.)
Democratic BECAUSE WE ARE THE BEST
Democrats
House leaders have more organizational control over the actions of representatives than Senate leaders do.
There are 2 main political parties in the US, the Republicans and the Democrats. The Democrats are in charge of the Executive Branch. In the Legislative Branch, there are 2 houses, the House of Representatives and the Senate. In the House of Representatives the Republicans have control, but in the Senate the Democrats have control. In the Judicial Branch there are 4 accepted conservatives (republicans) and 3 accepted liberals (democrats) the remaining 2 vote both ways; so it can be said that Republicans have the judicial branch.
The House majority is the Republican party, but the Senate it is the Democratic party.
242 U. S. House seats and 19 U. S. Senate seats under Democratic control remained under Democratic control. 138 U. S. House seats and 10 U. S. Senate seats under Republican control remained under Republican control. 49 U. S. House seats and 4 U. S. Senate seats went from Republican control to Democratic control. 6 U. S. House seat and 1 U. S. Senate seat went from Democratic control to Republican control. Net changes: The Republican Party lost 43 House seats and 3 Senate seats. The Democratic Party gained 43 House seats and 3 Senate seats. The change was due largely to the embarrassment brought onto the Republican Party when former President Nixon's role in the Watergate break-in and cover-up was revealed.
As of May 2014, there are 53 Democrats in the US Senate and 45 Republicans. There are also two independents, Bernie Sanders of VT and Angus King of ME, who are not members of either political party. However, they caucus with the Democratic Party, meaning, for purposes of committees and such, they "count as" Democrats.
If you are asking wich political party is currently in the majority, and thus in control of the Senate - as of November 2011, it is the Democrat Party.
Most likely the Democratic Party is what I have heard! ;-)
Democratic is what i say
Right now, Democrats control the White House and the Senate, and Republicans control the House of Representatives.
As of the current session, the Democratic Party is in control of both the US Senate and the US House of Representatives.
Usually the government is under the control of a political party or a coalition of political party's. If your party does not have control of the government but does have seats in the parliament or senate then it is an opposition party. That is a party that opposes the government. The official opposition is the party with the second most seats in the house of commons.
