How does a 2D shape look different from a 3D shape?

Why does liquid take the shape of a sphere when in zero gravity and gases does not?

Does a liquid have a define shape?
Usually, a liquid does not have a predetermined or definite shape. It will take on the shape of the container it is in or surface it is on. The only extenuating circumstance is during free-fall, or where there is negligible or no gravity - it will be become almost spherical, held together by surface tension.

When you measure the surface area do you measure all the shape or the bottom of the shape?

What 3D shape has 1 circular face and one which is half the surface of a sphere?
What does convex mean in geometric terms?
Having all internal angles below 180 degrees * * * * * That only applies to polygons or polyhedra. You can have convex solids that are curved and have no angles. A convex shape is one in which, if you take any two points on the surface of the shape or inside it, then the whole of the straight line joining those two points is on the surface of the shape of inside it.
