The electromagnetic radiation most capable of ionizing is the radiation with the
highest energy per quantum. That in turn implies the radiation with the highest
frequency (shortest wavelength).
The highest-energy end of the electromagnetic spectrum is the region we call
"gamma rays". We can't generate these, and the gamma rays we observe all
originate in radioactive nuclear processes.
Alpha radiation is the most ionising however it is also the least penetrative. Gamma radiation is the least ionising but is the most penetrative.
Alpha
Ultra-violet radiation causes a suntan.
The strongest type of radiation of course.
alpha radiation
X-Rays
alpha radiation
ultraviolet
Bananas emmit Nuclear radiation, this is because of there high amounts of potassium. The specific isotope that causes the most radiation is Potassium-40.
ultra violet radiation
Ultra-violet radiation causes a suntan.
alpha
Ultraviolet radiation does that.
Gamma radiation.
Depends what type it is. If it is a domestic type you usually open it up where the battery goes and use compressed air or a vacuum cleaner. If it is a commercial type there is normally 2 screws on the base which open it up and can then be cleaned with compressed air. Beware this only works on optical type detectors, Ionisation types should not be opened and can not be cleaned. Ionisation detectors are usually identified by a radiation warning on the label.
