Can ultrasonic waves be polarized?

No. Only transverse waves can be polarized Ultrasonic wasves are sound waves, therefore are longitudinal.

What would an image look like that shows polarized light waves?

Polarized light waves

What is the electromagnetic waves cannot be polarized?

The very question is wrong. Sound waves being longitudinal cannot be polarized. Electromagnetic wave being transverse can be polarized

Light waves that vibrate in only one plane are called what?

Light waves that vibrate in only one plane are called polarized.

How would you justify that light waves are transverse?

One clear indication is that light can be polarized. By their nature, longitudinal waves can't be polarized.

S and p polarized em wave?

P polarized waves have electric field the plane of incedence while S polarized waves have electric field which is perpendicular to the plane of incidence

Does plane polarization occur in a transverse waves?

Transverse waves can be plane-polarized; longitudinal waves can not be.

Transverse waves that vibrate in one direction only are called....?

Polarized waves.

Can sound waves be polarized like electromagnetic waves can?

For polarization the direction of the oscillation has to be perpendicular to the direction of travel. In sound waves, which are longitudinal waves, this isn't the case and thereby can not be polarized.

Polarization is the process of transforming unpolarized waves to polarized waves What methods are valid ways to polarize waves?

transmission and scattering

What type of wave does sound travel on and how is this different to the wave light travels on?

Sound wave is a mechanical wave. It means that, for propagation, it badly needs a material medium. But, light waves are not mechanical waves. They are electromagnetic waves. It does not need a material medium. It can pass even through vacuum. Sound wave is longitudinal in nature where as light waves are transverse in nature. Being transverse, light can be polarized. But, sound waves being longitudinal cannot be polarized.

Are longitudinal waves plane polarized?

No. Since longitudinal waves are vibrating in the direction that they are traveling, polarization has no meaning in their case.
