The dependent variable
The dependent variable goes first.
The independent variable goes on ther horizontal (x-axis) ; )
Y is the response variable and it goes on the vertical axis.
Its voltage remains constant unless loaded. The current available goes down as it is used up.
The Independent/Manipulative variable is the variable that you purposely change, and the Dependent/Responsive variable is the variable that changes as a rest of the Independent variable. You measure the dependent variable to see the effects of the Independent variable.
.... then your graph is inverted.
up and down. the x goes left and right

The independent variable goes on the x-axis and the dependent variable goes on the y-axis.

dependent variable
The dependent variable goes first.
The variable that goes on the y axis is the dependent variable. This is the one that you measure, and do not control. The variable that goes on the x axis is the independent variable. This is the one that you control and change throughout the experiment. No other variables feature on the graph.
