Gamma rays have the shortest wavelength.

Electromagnetic wave is a kind of energy being propagated even through free space (vacuum). It is classified based on the mode of producing it as

Radio waves, micro waves, infra red, visible, ultra violet, X-ray and Gamma ray.

Out of these seven, radio waves have the lowest frequency and Gamma ray has the highest frequency. As frequency and wavelength are inversely related, radio wave would have the longest wavelength.

Which of these statements about the EM spectrum is false?

Most of the EM spectrum is visible light.

What is the passage of an EM wave through a medium?

when EM waves encounter a material medium, they can interact with it in much the same way that mechanical waves do. A mechanical wave transfer energy in two ways. As it travels, the wave moves potential energy from one place to another.

Where is electromagnetic energy found?

I prefer not to use the word "stored," because EM radiation does not "store" energy -- it transfers it. The energy shifts from the electric field of the EM wave to the magnetic field of the EM wave, and then back -- repeat ad infinitem.

Is light the same as electromagnetic radiation?

Yes, it is. Electromagnetic (EM) waves have frequency and amplitude (as well as polarity and a couple of other things), and because it has frequency, it can be distributed across a range of frequencies, or a spectrum - an electromagnetic spectrum. Light is a range of frequencies in what we call the optical or visible range. It is bounded on the lower end (lower frequency, lower energy, longer wavelength) by infrared (IR) light, and on the upper end (higher frequency, higher energy, shorter wavelength) by ultraviolet (UV) light.Yes. Light is also called a "electromagnetic wave"

What is the wavelength of a 30 GHz radio wave in a vacuum?

EM waves travel at the speed of light in a vacuum. c=f*lambda where c is the speed of light, f is the frequency of the way and lambda is the wavelength. Lambda= c/f = (3x108 m/s)/3x1010 s-1) = 1x10-2 m or 1 cm

What is the relationship between an EM wave wavelength and its location on the EM spectrum?

The EM spectrum is a chart of electromagnetic radiation, arranged by wave length. The chart may be arranged in ascending or descending order.Related Information:The charts could begin with radio waves, having the longest wavelength, and end with gamma rays, having the shortest wavelength or the order could be reversed.

What gamma waves have?

Gamma waves have the shortest wavelength of any electromagnetic wave in the EM spectrum, the shortest wavelength means highest cyclic frequency, and highest intensity of any EM wave. (energy transferance by gamma waves is the strongest) *intensity is a measure of the height of the sine wave as opposed to to length, essentially more energy in a smaller crossectional area.

Which type of EM radiation has the shortest wavelength and the most engery?

The shortest wave is a Gamma wave

In the electromagnetic spectrum which has the shortest wavelength?

Shortest wavelength corresponds to highest energy, and this region of the EM spectrum contains high energy radiation such as X-rays and gamma rays. The part with the highest frequencies ... the end where the gamma rays are.

Where is wave located on the em spectrum?

all of the em spectrum is measured i waves

How is wavelength of an EM wave related to its energy?

The shorter the wavelength of a wave, the higher its energy.

Electromagnetic waves of the longest wavelength carry the greatest energy?

No. The energy of an EM wave is E = h*c / (wavelength), therefore waves with the shortest wavelength (or highest frequency) carry the greatest energy.

How are x-rays differentrom the light?

X-rays and visible light are part of the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum or EM Spectrum. The EM Spectrum is a depiction of all EM waves from the longest to the shortest. X-rays have a shorter wavelength than visible light. Our eyes only have the ability to translate a small section of the EM Spectrum into information our brain can process. The section our eyes can translate is the visible light section. Each color we see has a different wave length. You can use a prism to view all the colors of light or just look a a rainbow. X-rays also are deadlier than visible light because of its shorter wavelength. They can go through the body easier than visible light. Google EM Spectrum and you'll get a better answer.

What to properties of EM waves change from one end of the EM spectrum to the other?

Wavelength and frequency :)
