you make sure the bubble side is facing down on the water.smooth facing uo toward the sky.
The side of the pool cover with bubbles is the lower side.
It is possible to buy a Solar Pool Cover on different websites like Ebay, Amazon or on websites of a manufacturer itself. For example: solardirect. Another way is to buy the cover in home improvement stores or building supplies stores.
A solar blanket is an inexpensive way to heat your pool water. It should not stay on during the of season. I recommend a winter pool cover. However, the heat fgenerated from the solar cover absorbs a significant amount of chlorine and tends to lower the Ph level in the pool. I suggest you regularly, atleast once a week, check the chemical levels in the pool water.
It all depends on how it is set up.
Usually not. How long is the pool? Custom covers are available -- for a price that may exceed regular cover pricing. K
My pool is 44 x 20. If I didn't have a reel, there would be no way that I could pull the solar cover off by myself. I think it depends on how big your pool is but I couldn't use my solar cover without one. I find my reel a pain in the butt! The cover never unravels evenly on both sides (round pool with reel in center). A: then your reel and cover are not installed correctly..... or is a very cheap model. our cover reel works great on a 16 X 24 above ground. In the winter I unbolt from the deck and hang it in the garage.
The thickness is usually relative to the 'years' of warranty on the cover.. the thicker the cover, the more layers, or thicker layer of protective/insulative coating on the core of the solar blanket. In my experience it is worth buying the extra thick cover. they are much more durable , which is good because the corrosive nature of the water over the years.
Put a 1 1/2 PVC pipe down the middle of the cover . Attach it to the cover with stainless bolts ,nuts, washers. Put an elbow on one end so you turn the pipe. The cover will roll up quickly in the water . I would recommend a thin cover to make it easier to roll
The short answer is: "you don't". However, I always anticipate the "junk" and stand by with a screen and pole to skim the junk off the surface as quickly as possible without letting it settle. I take the edge of the solar cover and throw it back on top of itself - do this all of the way around the pool. Continue folding the cover back onto itself - working your way around the pool or spinning the cover on the surface of the water while you stay in one place - until it is small enough to haul out of the water. This holds in the dirt/leaves/etc as you remove the cover from the water. Once out of the pool, unfold the cover on a flat surface and spray clean with a hose. Hope this helps ... We use a leaf blower to remove all of the junk from the cover before trying to remove it. We also use a sub-pump when we open our pool to remove all of the water that has accumulated on top of the cover.
The way the liquid solar pool cover works is that it forms a film on the surface of the water that is more or less undetectable. You can manually add it each week or you can buy products that stay in the pool and slowly release the solution. This film reduces the amount of water loss due to evaporation and its effectiveness depends greatly on the surface area of your pools. 68000 Gallons is quite a large pool. If the pools is shallow with a large surface area it wont be as effective than if your pool is deep with a smaller surface area. This product will help either way but like I said, the extent to which it will work depends greatly on the dimensions of your pool. Another tid bit of info -- These liquid solar covers are only 12% as effective as the real deal, however I don't know if the bubble type cover is available in the size needed for your pools. Good luck.
Solar by far, especially in Florida. A Solar Pool heater can allow you to swim all year long for FREE.
The best way to fix holes in a mesh pool cover is to sew it. If the holes are too large for this you should consider just replacing it.
