spring down
The spring side goes INTO the intake manifold.
The thermostat is located on the right hand side of the Radiator but to the bottom, you have an overflow, bypass and two other hoses that connect to the Thermostat housing. Things to note, only 2 bolts and it is off. The Thermostat can only go in 1 way and the default temp is 195.
I know that the spring goes towards the engine and on the 4.0 L - OHV engine the vent hole in the thermostat is at the top with the vertically mounted thermostat
The copper portion with the springs goes into the intake manifold. Once installed, the "bridge" part will be pointing away from the engine toward the front of the car.
can a 1971 ford mustang rear differential interchange with a 1967 ford mustang? The only way that a differential from a 1971-73 mustang whether the 8.8 or 9 inch to fit a 1967 ford mustang, is to have it cut shorter a few inches each side and will need the shock supports repostioned on the axle to match the supports on the frame of the car
counterclockwise
IT IS A YORKSHIRE TERRIER
Seeing how the Ford Mustang did not come out til 1964 1/2 there is no way to know how much it would of cost.

It made them more popular!! By the Way Mustangs have terrible quality!
Remove the thermostat housing screws and separate the housing, exsposing the thermostat and coolant, remove old thermostat and gasket. Reinstall new thermostat, gasket and coolant.
The spring side of the thermostat is towards the engine and the vent hole is at the top ( if that's what you are asking )
