The white stuff is normal and is the blood clot. It appears white because saliva has leached out the red blood cells. There may be a slight smell due to the organic material (blood clot) fermenting in a moist, warm environment (your mouth). This is part of the healing process and will fade away.

Following a tooth extraction 11 days ago you can feel what appears to be part of the tooth in the socket and every time you eat or drink the socket is extremely painful is this OK?

If you still feel what may be part of your tooth left in the socket, that is not good. I would suggest seeing your dentist, or oral surgeon about this as part of your tooth may have broken in the process of the extraction. If there is no partial tooth remaining, you may have what is called dry socket, which is extremely painful. Can you get dry socket if your adult decayed tooth just falls out?

Dry socket occurs usually due to the dislodgement of the blood clot that forms after extraction. It may also occur due to traumatic extraction in the dentist has done too much scooping of the extraction socket. That socket becomes very painful and sensitive to food and even air. In your case, it looks like dentist has not done the job,but the tooth has fallen out on its own. Did u see the entire root come out as well? There are chances that only the top(crown) portion of tooth that was hollow and decayed tooth may have fallen out, and root is still inside. In that case the remaining tooth maybe be sharp and hurt you. The pain you have may also be bcoz of infection in that tooth. In any case the best bet would be to see a dentist.

Is green or brown pus in the tooth socket normal after an extraction?

Most likely you have a "Dry Socket". which can occur when the the blood clot is disturbed or removed from the extraction site, or due to smoking after after having a tooth extracted. Call your dentist and describe your symptoms, most likely they will want you to be seen & treated. If indeed it is dry socket they will clean out the socket & place a medicated dressing inside the socket, which you should feel much better afterwards.Look up dry socket online a check to see if your symptoms match. see below"A dry socket, more formally referred to as alveolar osteitis by dentist, is a fairly common complication associated with tooth extractions. The formation of a dry socket involves a scenario where the blood clot which forms in the tooth's socket's after the extraction isn't properly retained (either it disintegrates by way of fibrinolysis or becomes dislodged). Since this blood clot is an important factor in protecting the boney socket and initiating the healing process, the healing of the extraction site is interrupted and becomes delayed."
