Technically Macbeth only murdered Duncan in the begining and young siward at the end. Then he had the murderers go to kill Fleance and his father. Fleance escaped so he wouldn't count, and Macbeth also had the murders go to kill the Thane of Fife (macduff) and ends up only having the family killed. Macbeths wife in the end dies of what no one really knows but it can be argued that he was the cause of her death. He also slays young siward before macduff challenges him. So it really depends on how you look at it. If you want to know how many he killed with his own hands then 2.
These characters in the play were killed by Macbeth or were killed on his orders: Duncan, his two guards, Banquo, Young Siward, Lady Macduff, and her children. The only other character in the play who gets killed is Macbeth himself. We also hear about others who were killed offstage including the servants in Macduff's castle, soldiers being killed in battles including Macdonweald, split from nave to chops, and also Cawdor, who gets executed offstage.

The difference is that Lady Macbeth at first wanted Macbeth to kill Banquo and Macbeth was too scared to do it. Later on in the tragedy, Lady Macbeth gets haunted and gets mentally ill and Macbeth keeps on killing people.
