Technically Macbeth only murdered Duncan in the begining and young siward at the end. Then he had the murderers go to kill Fleance and his father. Fleance escaped so he wouldn't count, and Macbeth also had the murders go to kill the Thane of Fife (macduff) and ends up only having the family killed. Macbeths wife in the end dies of what no one really knows but it can be argued that he was the cause of her death. He also slays young siward before macduff challenges him. So it really depends on how you look at it. If you want to know how many he killed with his own hands then 2.

These characters in the play were killed by Macbeth or were killed on his orders: Duncan, his two guards, Banquo, Young Siward, Lady Macduff, and her children. The only other character in the play who gets killed is Macbeth himself. We also hear about others who were killed offstage including the servants in Macduff's castle, soldiers being killed in battles including Macdonweald, split from nave to chops, and also Cawdor, who gets executed offstage.

Just Duncan. He kills Duncan's two grooms in the morning (which admittedly came quite shortly thereafter).

How was Macbeth viewed by his people?

People hated Macbeth because he killed the king Duncan (the king of Scotland) so that he could become the king as the witches prophecy had mentioned and then Duncan's grooms and Banquo and who knows how many more. Even if they did not suspect him of all those crimes (and we know from Lennox's speech in Act 3 Scene 6 that at least some of them did), they could not help feel the oppressive atmosphere caused by Macbeth's paranoia. He keeps a "servant fee'd" in every house to spy on people and turn them in if they grumble about Macbeth. All in all it was like living under Stalin.
