The eight people in the Annex were captured by Karl Silberbauer, a Gestapo officer, with the assistance of some plainclothes NSB men. Simon Wiesenthal later wanted to prosecute Silberbauer, but Otto Frank refused this, saying Silberbauer had not been their betrayer, merely an officer assigned to do a job, which he had done without cruelty or malice. Silberbauer's commanding officer, Julius Dettmann had taken the phone call from the betrayer, but Dettmann committed suicide at the end of the war, and could not be questioned.

Eventually yes. When an unknown betrayer turned her and her family in after about two years of hiding in the secret annex in her father's building, she was brought to a concentration camp. Around seven months in the camp, she died of typhus at the age of 15. Her sister also died of it. Anne's daddy lived but her mom was starved to death in Auschwitz.

Anne Frank wasn't really killed. She died of typhus, a disease of drinking dirty water. She died sometime between Feburary and March, a few weeks after her sister, Margot.

She died of typhus.

Anne died of typhus, however the Nazis abuse, harsh labor and poor living conditions in the camps were significant factors in her death.
