The Yellow Jackets' home was Frankford Stadium, located at the corner of Frankford Avenue and Deveraux Street in northeastern Philadelphia. The stadium burned during the Great Depression (1931), leading to the demise of the team. Burt Bell and Lud Wray bought the NFL franchise in 1933 and rehired many of the Yellow Jacket players, but changed the name of the team to the Philadelphia Eagles, after President Roosevelt's New Deal symbol.
