One of the first proponents of the heliocentric theory (but often forgotten) was Giordano Bruno, an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, mathematician, poet, and cosmological theorist.

Beginning in 1593, Bruno was tried for heresy by the Roman Inquisition on charges including denial of several core doctrines of the Catholic Church, including eternal damnation, the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, the virginity of Mary, and transubstantiation. Bruno's pantheism was also a matter of grave concern. The Inquisition found him guilty, and he was burned at the stake in Rome's Campo de' Fiori in 1600. Bruno's case is still considered a landmark in the history of freethought and the emerging sciences.

The treatment of Galileo Galilei by the Roman Inquisition between 1616 and 1632 was much milder than their earlier treatment of Giordano Bruno.

What relationship does inertia have with heliocentricity?

A tenuous one because inertia is an undefined concept connected with dynamics, while heliocentricity is a property of the solar system. I guess you could say the connection is that the planets have inertia which, combined with gravity, causes the planets to orbit the Sun.
