Guru Nanak Dev Ji (15 April 1469 - 22 September 1539), the founder of Sikhism, was the first person to describe the one light as having two forms - electromagnetic waves. Below is the quote from Sikhism's holy scripture (Guru Granth Sahib):
"O Nanak, the One Light has two forms; through the Shabad, union is attained".
(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, pg. 30).
Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (February 22, 1857 - January 1, 1894) was a German physicist who clarified and expanded the electromagnetic theory of light that had been put forth by Maxwell. He was the first to satisfactorily demonstrate the existence of electromagnetic waves by building an apparatus to produce and detect VHF or UHF radio waves.
Gilbert Lewis, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, was the first to use the term -- doing so in 1926.
Lewis was nominated for the Chemistry Nobel Prize 35 times but never won. His invention of this term was almost a throw-away idea.
Among others - Plank and A. Einstein.

Christiaan Huygens
Christiaan Huygens and Isaac Newton were both responsible for the knowledge we have today on the motion of light. Huygens proposed his wave theory for light's motion and Newton proposed the particle theory in the 17th century. It is accepted today that light moves in both wave form and particle form at once.
Light is an example of a electromagnetic wave.
its a light behaviour that represents light travelling as a wave
a wave model of light.
Christiaan Huygens
He added an extra mathematical term to Ampere's law and discovered that with what are now called Maxwell's equations there is a free-space solutions in the form of waves. He found that the wave solutions travel at the speed of light, so he guessed that they were light. This was later proved to be correct. The equations also predicted the existence of radio waves and these were discovered 15 years later.

I would rather say that light IS a wave, not that it HAS a wave. It is a type of electromagnetic wave.
