If there were three primary guiding principles, I would surmise those to be the fundamental rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as laid out by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. I believe the Constitution was intended to reflect and preserve those basic rights. If anyone knows of another "three main principles," I hope you will enlighten us.

After being president, Jefferson retired to Monticello. He sold his book collection to be the base of the Library of Congress. At 76 years old, he played a major role in the founding of Virginia University. He died of unknown causes on July 4, 1826, just hours before his friend, John Adams. Since he was 83 years old, it is assumed he died of natural causes.
Yes; Hamilton came from a very poor background and Jefferson came from a rich background. This definitely would have affected their different views.
