Not many people die in the last air bender but, a few do. Some that I know of are Admiral Zhao, Iroh's son and Katara and Sokka's mom. Monk Gyatso and the other Air Temple monks die too.
Jet also dies, and Aang is killed in Book Three - but Katara uses her healing powers to bring him back. Zuko's mum left to save his life but is was never confirmed that she actually died.
It is presumed that only the secondary people like air nomads, Jet and a couple others end up dying.
Katara's mother and airbenders.
Aang did die in Book 3, but Katara brought him back. I think it was Book 3... It was in Ba Sing Se anyway. In the combat between Aang, Zuko, Katara, Azula and Iroh.
Zuko's mother left to save his life when he was little. It was not confirmed that she was killed, however.
The only really really involved character that I know who died during the show's run is Jet. He was killed when Long Fang earthbended a huge rock that crushed his internal organs in the episode 'Lake Laogai'.
The air temples were wiped out completely, Katara's mother, Jet, Aang (but only for a while), Avatar Roku showed Aang his death with his dragon in a flashback. And possibly Zuko's mother.
Yes Jet and Zhao. There are a few others that are mentioned to be dead but they never acually show them dieing. Avatar is not a very bloody show mind you. And plus since Aang is technically a Buddhist, he doesnt believe in taking another person's life (as mentioned in the last 4 episodes)
Jet, who is killed by Long Feng, and Zhao, who is killed by Aang in Avatar State. Also Yue dies when she sacrifices her life for the Moon Spirit. Oh yeah, it also shew Avatar Roku dying. AND Katara and Sokka's mom,who was killed by the Southern Raiders, don't forget her!
---Aang was already out of the Avatar State when Zhao died. It was the Moon Spirit (the black Koi Fish) that did the killing.
Almost everyone except for the hero and his girlfriend.
Well, he doesn't die actually. Book 2: Earth Season finale Crossroads of destiny part 2. KAtra saves him with spirit water from the Oasis in the North Pole.
No, he didn't die. He got to be with the girl he loved,(Katara), and had three kids with her. It was a happy ending for not only Aang but the other characters as well.
He's not the last Avatar, he's the last airbender. He is the last airbender. The Avatar's soul is reincarnated into the next bender in the cycle, so if he were to die, the Avatar would be reborn into the next cycle. As the cycle is air, water, earth, fire, he would be reborn into one of the water tribes. However, as Avatar Roku tells Aang in the Avatar State, the first episode of the second season, "If the Avatar is killed while he is in the Avatar State the cycle will be broken, and the Avatar will cease to exist." As Aang is killed in the Avatar State in "The Crossroads of Destiny," the Avatar Cycle has likely been broken. Indeed, Aang reveals in the third season that he can no longer travel to the Avatar State, which indicates that he is not only the last airbender, but possibly the last Avatar as well. But then he does manage to go into the Avatar State in the finale and everything is happy. Yay.

An Avatar the only person who has the ability to master all four elements air, water, earth and fire. They are born in each of the nations e.g. when Avatar Aang (the current avatar who is an air nomad) dies then Korra is born in the Southern Water Tribe as that is the avatar cycle. Their job is to keep the world at peace in the world. they are the great bridge between the spirit world and the human world. The avatars have special abilities such as the avatar state- a state in which the current avatar has the power of all his past lives they become connected. once the avatar has mastered their element then they have to master the other elements in order of the avatar cycle. e.g. Aang has mastered air he must master water, earth then fire. korra has mastered water she has to muster earth, fire and air. the avatar is usually told at the age of 16 unless there is a big problem e.g. Aang is told at the age of 12 because the Fire Nation are about to start the war
No he did not, but they permanently transplanted his soul to his Avatar so that he can live in Pandora without getting poisoned by it's atmosphere. his human body dies because to transfer from one body to another you have to die and come back again. Neytiri removes his oxygen mask and he dies his soul is then returned but to his avatar body.
avatar
It would be a water bender born on the exact day the avatar dies.
well, we don't know bc right when the avatar dies a new one is born so it all depends on the death of the previous avatar
The Avatar is one spirit, reborn in many different bodies. Once an Avatar dies, that moment a new one is born. The Avatar isn't picked by the spirits, it's just born again.
What happens is, the present avatar dies. Then you go to the next element. Babies get to chose toys when they are born. But there are 4 special toys. When a baby chooses those toys, the leaders of the people know that, that is the avatar. They wait until he/she gets older and then tells them.
No, Aang is not the last Avatar. When he dies, the Avatar Spirit will be reincarnated into the Water Tribe, and then into the Earth Kingdom, and then into the Fire Nation, and if there are any Airbenders left after that it will be reincarnated into the Air Nomads, and so on and so forth. It is the Avatar Cycle. Air-Water-Earth-Fire then repeats again and again. But in the end of Book 2: Earth, namely The Crossroads of Destiny, Aang nearly dies when entering Avatar State because Azula had struck him with a lightning strike. But fortunately, Aang is healed by Katara, using the water from the Northern Water Tribe's Spirit Oasis.
In Crossroads of destiny's when Aang is seriously injured by Azula he almost dies but doesn't. And even if he did die and was brought back to life the new avatar is born one week after the death of the previous avatar.
Avatar definately!
