The first Tyrannosaurus rex fossil was discovered by the famous fossil hunter Barnum Brown in 1902. T.Rex was named in 1905 by Henry Fairfield Osborn. That same year, Osborn also named another huge Cretaceous theropod, calling it Dynamosaurus imperiosus (meaning "powerful, mighty lizard"). Osborn later made Dynamosaurus a synonym of Tyrannosaurus, realizing that they were the same. By Maddy

Tyrannosaurus rex teeth were first found in 1874. In 1900, paleontologist Barnum Brown discovered the first partial skeleton of T-rex. All T-rex fossils have been found in the western USA and Canada. Tyrannosaurus rex lived between 68 and 65.5 million years ago. That was at the end of the Maastrichtian stage, the last stage of the Cretaceous time period. They became extinct 65.5 million years ago, during the K-T mass extinction event.
No full T-Rex skeletons have been found but around 200 bones is a good estimate.
Why is T-rex called King of Dinosaurs? Well T-rex is called that because of 2 reasons. Reason1- When T-rex was discovered it was the largest predatory dinosaur ever found. But later after that gigantosaurus was found. {which leads into Reason2} Reason 2- Some people wanted gigantosaurus to be king of dinosaurs;but many scientists debated who would win in a battle. And the facts pointed to t-rex wining. So t-rex has remained King of Dinosaurs!
A T-Rex can't be found alive, at least not a real one. They're extinct-gone forever.
