Annabeth is protrayed in the series as Percy's primary love interest and his eventual girlfriend. When Percy first wakes up in The Lightning Thief, he describes her as a "princess, with golden curls". Percy and Annabeth disliked each other when they first met (only because their parents Athena and Poseidon have a rivalry) but soon grow fond of each other. Aphrodite has told him that they will have a 'tragic love life'. Annabeth has kissed him four times, once, after winning the chariot race in The Sea of Monsters, though that was only on the cheek, in The Battle of the Labyrinth again for luck as she leaves him to fight the telekhines at Mt. St. Helen's, The Last Olympian in the dining area of Camp Half-Blood, prior to all other campers throwing them in the canoe lake in The Last Olympian, and finally underwater also in the The Last Olympian. Also, Annabeth is known to be jealous of Rachel, the clear-sighted mortal girl, because Percy spends a lot of time hanging out with her, but Annabeth eventually befriends her after Rachel became the Oracle, and won't be dating anybody. Annabeth also shows jealousy toward Calypso after Percy arrived back at camp from coming from Calypso's island. Percy describes her as being "always cute" but soon described her as being seriously beautiful. Annabeth also states that Percy looks cute when he's worried. It is also well mentioned that her and Percy have officialy become a couple in (The Lost Hero). When Percy went missing, Annabeth was out of sorts trying to find him. Also Rachel Elizbeth Dare likes Percy romanticilly. Even though Percy is not known to like Rachel romantically, it is known that she likes him. In The Last Olympianshe says, 'And so . . . hypothetically, if these two people liked each other, what would it take to get the stupid guy to kiss the girl, huh?'. However, Beckendorf and Blackjack landed on the hood of Paul Blofis' Prius before he could answer. Rachel kissed him anyway though. Percy was unsure about having a crush on Rachel, as he never truly admits it. However, Percy's growing love for Annabeth never stopped so Percy didn't develop a true relationship with Rachel. On Olympus, Rachel tells Percy that she was drawn to him due to his introducing her to the Olympian world, but that they could never be together. After Percy is stranded on the island Ogygia, he is healed by a girl named Calypso. She is stranded on the island after supporting her father, Atlas, in the the First Olympian War and is to live on the island forever. She asks him to join her and live with her forever but he turns her down, even though it could save him the trouble of the prophecy

There are hints of some things going on between them like in the 4th book, Annabeth kissed Percy when he is about to fight in Mt. St Helens. It's on page 203.

in the last book they finally become a couple! Its so sweet, Annabeth even takes a knife for Percy and saves his life!!!

Percy likes Annabeth, although he hinted that he liked Rachael in the Last Olympian. Because Rachael became the next Oracle, Percy confirmed that he liked Annabeth.
