She had even more influence over Marc Anthony. She married Marc Anthony and had children by him. Octavius, later Augustus, saw Cleopatra's influence on Marc Anthony as extremely unhealthy. Octavius used Cleopatra as a propaganda weapon against Mark Anthony and ultimately defeted them both at the Battle of Actium.
