Sir Isaac Newton is considered to be one of the most important mathematicians to have ever existed. His theory of gravitational force and his discovery of calculus are some of his most famous achievements. There is a story that says that Isaac Newton was sitting under an apple tree in England, and an apple fell and hit him on his head. Apparently he jumped up and was so happy, because he just realized gravity must exist, because the apple had a force that did not come from anything. This story is said to have motivated him to discover the gravitation force theory.
