It could have been someone drinking tea on a hot day and poured it on ice to make it cool. To this day there are many different types of iced tea including lemon and rasberry. It is actually believed that the Englishman Richard Blechynden first invented iced tea. It was at the St. Lous World's Fair in 1904, and no one would buy it because it was too hot. So, he just added ice to make it cooler. It became popular, and it is still popular today.
