Knives, scrapers and axes are about the oldest tools used by humans. We have absolutely no idea who first came up with the idea. The Stone Age people first had them well over one million years ago, and the first metal (bronze) knives date back some 6,000 years.
The use of items to cut things goes back thousands of years. The first tools were made from natural materials. It wasn't until man learned to forge copper, iron, and later steel that he could produce metal cutting tools. The ancient Egyptians used copper tools and knives and many ancient peoples did as well. We don't know who the first person was because it goes back so far in time.

There have been fighting knives in every war since knives were invented. They had the K-Bar knife then. It's still avaible to buy. High carbon steel blade with a leather wrapped handle.
The knive is such an obvious development that it's probably been invented at several places unrelated to each other. And it all happened way back in prehistory that it's impossible to say who was first.
The very first knife was likely a sharp bit of rock. Since then we added handles, changed blades to metal, changed metals several times, made folding knives, knives with more than one blade, combined knives with tools (Swiss Army Knives. Leatherman), made knives to go on guns (bayonets) made REALLY big knives (swords) and made electric knives (electric carving knives) Some knives are now made with blades that are ceramic- a form of stone. Hey- this is where we started!
The Pocket Knife comes from the early Iron Age but they were not the same pocket knives you see today. The 15th century is when Locking Knives were first known to exist.
Yes, knives were one of the earliest tools created by humans and were likely invented in the Stone Age. These early knives were made from sharpened rocks or bones and were used for a variety of tasks such as hunting, cooking, and crafting.
The knife was not invented-it was found. The earliest knives were simply pieces of broken flint, rock, etc .
I do not know who invented it, I think an emperor did, I just know it was made over thousands of years ago in ancient China when Mulan was alive, they used chopsticks for a substitute for knives, because knives were considered a weapon.
The name of the person who invented the first knife is lost to history. People were using sharpened animal bones and rocks as knives long before humans had learned how to write.

Unknown. Stone knives cut from flint have existed since before humans became a distinct species. Meaning well over a million years, at the minimum.
The Butterfly knife was invented in England by a man named William Morton. He studied knives and decided to design his own when he found there was no knife that efficiently completed the use he wanted.
