Well, blind people usually aren't deaf.
Louis Braille, a Frenchman who himself was blind, invented a system of raised dots known as Braille that allowed blind individuals to read by touch. His invention revolutionized communication and accessibility for people with visual impairments around the world.
Blind people can not see so there other senses are heightened. They used to have GIANT books with the letters popping out and they had very few and they were extremely heavy. So they made up this system of raised dots so they could read easier and and it wasn't so bulky.... YEAH THE RAISED DOTS ARE SO THEY CAN READ IT.... felt like giving you some back history.
Blind people can't read books so they read braille books and signs.
Visited the disabled, wrote books, raised money for the American Fondation for the Blind, visiting wounded soliders, and traveling the world.

they read books.
There are many ways that books can be accessible for a person who is blind. One way (the most common way) is for a blind person to read braille books. There are many places that offer braille books. Some libraries provide them; many internet services provide braille books; etc. Another way blind people can read books is auditorially. You can get devices, such as an Apple product, that read books to you, once you get them in that format. Those formats are available in many places online.
Braille is a combination of raised dots that people who are blind use to read. They slowly rub their fingers horizontally across the page. Different combinations of dots represent different letters. This allows them to read specially designed books using this method.
