Who invented the Tobacco pipe?
Forms of the tobacco pipe have been used for hundreds of years and earlier versions of this pipe since ancient times. Therefore it is not known who invented this pipe.
The legend has it that Turkish cannoneers were issued a tobacco ration, which they smoked in pipes. One of them broke his pipe while in the field. Because he wanted to smoke but couldn't with no pipe, he tore some paper from a bag of gunpowder, put tobacco in it and twisted it into a roll. The other cannoneers saw it and started doing it too.
Yes - The trick is to find a pipe designed with cigarette tobbaco in mind. You want a deeper, more narrow pipe. Cigarette tobacco burns differently from pipe tobacco. Trouble is - we used to be able to search the Web for a cigarette tabacco pipe. Seems they went away during the past few years. You may find one, but may aslo be OK with a short, narrow bin pipe.

While the traditional pipe smoker does not inhale, it is done. Yes, you can inhale any form of tobacco smoke although Cigars and Pipe tobacco are usually not inhaled and rather puffed on for flavor. The technique is to let the smoke rest in the back of the throat and breath it out without completely inhaling. It is alright to do so.
