Helena was a important person in in A Midsummer's Night Dream because she was part of a "love triangle" i do agree. Here is the real reason, Helena is Hermias best friend. Helena used to date Demetrius then he broke up with her to go out with Hermia. But Hermia is due to marry him but she doesnt want to. She is in love with Lysander. He dislikes Demetius but Helena practially stalks him. She begs him to be hers. When Hermia and Lysander finally plan to go run off and get married and the tell Helena and she thonks if she tells Demertius that he will fall in love with her.
Helena is characterized as lovesick, desperate, and insecure in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She is deeply in love with Demetrius, even though he does not return her feelings, leading her to behave erratically and desperately in pursuit of his love. Despite her flaws, Helena is loyal and determined, willing to go to great lengths in pursuit of love.
Helena is Hermia's bestfriend. They knew each other since school. Helena loves Demetrius but he doesn't. Demetrius and Lysander both love Hermia, but in the end, like a happy ever after ending, Demetrius loves Helena and Lysander loves Hermia.
Im not sure it says her age but i would guess late teens or very early twenties. Her and Hermia would be around the same age as they were friends as children and as they grew up.
Like all the characters, Helena lives in Athens.
