Jacob black is Bella's best friend and hes a werewolf. he is in love with Bella. if edward hadnt become a vampire and died like he was supposed to Jacob wouldn't be a werewolf and Bella and Jacob would be soulmates and be married happy and have 2 kids for this is the natural course for their life and edward who isn't even supposed to exist really changes this course. however edward does exist and Bella loves edward just a little more then she loves Jacob and so Jacobs soulmate changes to edward and Bella's daughter Nessie but this is ok becuz Jacob could wait since he doesnt age unless he choses to stop being a werewolf. youll have to read the full series for details. Bella finds out shes in love with 2 durin eclipse when she kisses Jacob for the second time the first against her will but the second she lets him kiss her and she kisses back and thts wen she sees wat wouldve been if not for edward becomin a vampire and she actually wants to kiss Jacob and pulls him closer and she says in her mind no matter how close she is she wants to be closer becuz she loves him too.

In the second book, New moon, Jacob becomes very close friend with Bella Swan and confesses that he loves Bella and will always be there for her. He fills the whole that Edward had made after he left Forks. Right before Bella accepts his request to go to the next level, as in date, Edward comes back into the picture at the end of the book. In Eclipse; Jack, Edward, and Bella are caught in a love triangle. Edward does not want Bella to see Jacob because he is a werewolf, since New moon, and thinks he is dangerous. After Edward realizes it is a good way to protect Bella from Victoria, an evil Vampire trying to get revenge for her mates death, Bella and Jacob's relationship continues.

Because of Jacob's friendship, he aids the Cullen's in the destruction of the newborns that Victoria had created to destroy Bella after he experiences a kiss from Bella which makes her realizes she really loves Jacob. When Jacob finds out he hates that Bella is "killing herself" for the baby. His pack wants to kill Bella and the kid for they don't know what danger the baby can do so Jacob protects the Cullens with Leah and Seth, members of Jacob's new pack. When the baby is born, Renesmee, Jacob becomes imprinted with her. This means that the two will eventually date and get married. This cuts off all intimate feelings he had for Bella and when Bella finally becomes a vampire, she only wants friendship from Jacob.
