"Lil Wayne" (born September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, LA) is a US rap artist and producer whose birth name is Dwayne Carter Jr.

He has many nicknames including: Weezy, F Baby, Young Carter, Young Money, Birdman Jr, and Young Mula. His father figure is Bryan Williams, the rap artist known as "Birdman." Lil Wayne has often collaborated with Birdman and frequently talks about him in his songs.

Lil Wayne is part of Cash Money Millionaires, a group of about 50 rappers. Cash Money Millionaires is still together and is a Southern hip hop group. Before that, Lil Wayne was part of The Hot Boys. The Hot Boys were created in 1997 but were no longer a group once Juvenile left in 2001. Lil Wayne produced an album with the former Hot Boy member B.G. in 2008. Lil Wayne created Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money.
