An angel of the Seraphim--of the nine angel choirs. Highest ranked choir and described as beings of light (so bright that humans and lower angels can't even look upon them). Said to have six wings--two for flying, two for covering head, and two for covering body.

One of the guards of God's throne.

Who are the different angels of God?

Actually, there are hundreds of names that mankind has given to these supernatural beings. Some cults or religions claim 72, others claim hundreds, while most canonical sources say three "Proper Names": "Michael, Gabriel and Raphael". (Other non-canonical names are: Uriel, Salathiel, Raguel, Sariel, Jeremiel.) Notice that "Biblical" names of angels all end in "EL"... that is because man's name for GOD is "EL" and their names reflect that. ie.. 'Michael' means: "Who is as God" - 'Gabriel' means: "Strength of God", etc. It is said that angels are not supposed to have "proper" names (with the exception of the three above). However, this is a partial list of angelic names, not including the "fallen angels". (247 names!) Which are twelve legions of angels?

Many people only believe there are two archangels: Michael and Gabriel. Some may even know of the third archangel named Raphael. The rest are Uriel, Raguel, Ramiel, Chamuel, Iophiel, Cassiel, Sandalphon, (I do not know whether Azael or Zerachiel is the eleventh archangel or not: that requires more research). The last archangel is Metatron, however, Metatron is unique because he goes by a variety of different names such as Lucifer, the Beast, the Morning Star, or the most recognizable name Satan. OK, I've done some research and have found who the real 12 archangels are, also I've found there associations with God. The 12 archangels are Michael (he who resembles God), Gabriel (God is my strength; God's able-bodied one), Raphael (God heals), Uriel (flame of God), Raguel (friend of God), Chamuel (he who sees [seeks] God), Iophiel (beauty of God), Cassiel (speed of God), Metatron or Lucifer (little Yahweh), Sandalphon (brother [of God]), Azrael (God's help) and Ramiel (God's mercy). It is also important to know that Raphael is also called the Prince of Angels, because he is supposedly head the archangel rank.(I didn't want to edit or modify the previous answer especially considering that this is my first ever answer so I'll put my answer below)The study of angels show similarities of what took place on Earth as it was in Heaven with respect of Christ's 12 disciples, where one betrays and later his position gets replaced when they became apostles (as if for some odd reason it seemed necessary to keep the numbers in 12). It is more or less the same with Archangels when there were 12 and one betrays and gets replaced soon after he is fallen. There are several names for the Archangels and many tend to misinterpret them as different archangels which isn't the case. It has to be noted that unlike other beings Angels are named based on their what they do or what they are. In other words, the same angel can have more than one name whenever he changes his roles. Popular belief is that the Fallen Angel had well over 5 names in total, starting with the well-known one - Lucifer (which actually isn't a bad name or one that you should consider evil at all(). The name Lucifer literally means, bearer of lights and was a name given to the archangel when he held the said role in Heaven, his name was later changed several time and 2 among them were Satan and Devil meaning betrayer and slanderer because of his actions (it is the name given to this fallen angel and many tend to consider all demons/fallen as Devil/Satan which is an obvious misunderstanding). Besides Satan there were other fallen angels as well and there has been a lot of confusion that it was either a few angels with different names or several angels for each respective name. At this point it is quite difficult to identify who exactly were the fallen and how many were there since one can have many names and many can have one name (Legion).By far this is the closest I've gotten with Archangels and their different names.Names of the 12 Archangels:Michael - "Who is like unto God?"
