∙ 12y agoNas is the better MC. Nas has countless classics in Hip-Hop that many acclaimed artistes sample over and over again. From Illmatic, It Was Written, Hip-Hop is Dead, Stillmatic, I Am..., Nas has been recognized as the ultimate MC, gaining mainstream and underground buzz. Tupac was a decent "MC" though his skills and poetry value are no competitor to Nas. Tupac has classic like Me Against The World and 2pacaplyse Now, but for the people who really know Hip-Hop, Nas is the winner over these two.
For example: Tupac took the idea from Nas's song "I Gave You Power" and transcribed it into "Me & My Girlfriend".
Now it's often confused that Nas "wanted to be like Tupac" but that was hardly never the case. Nas has a more complex rhyme scheme, larger vocabulary, took time writing his songs, crafting them into classics many MCs hail.
If you REALLY KNOW HIP-HOP, the amount you sell isn't the immediate answer. A bunch of idiots can by an album.
Tupac was great, but has nothing on Nas. I use to think Tupac was the G.O.A.T., but after months of really digging into Hip-Hop, I do believe Tupac was and still is..one of the most overrated artists of all time. I love Tupac, but his overrated more than Lil' Wayne. But if he's your favorite, I can't argue.

∙ 15y agoGood question. Biggie generally had the drug dealing and mafioso rap lyrics, while nas had meaningful and complex lyrics. They both had influence however. So Biggie is better at his part of rap, while nas is better at his.
