CLAPTON WOULD TELL YOU HENDRIX That answer is as correct as you will see; good insight. Hendrix probably dug Clapton too. Clapton was in awe over the smooth playing legend, and planned on presenting him with a Stratocaster I think in England. Unfortunately, he never got the chance; that was when Hendrix died. Also, it depends on what you like. If you like someone who plays more eccentrically, watch Hendrix. He had no quams against smashing his guitar or setting it ablaze on stage. Clapton AND Hendrix. Two of the most powerfull and prolific guitarist' ever to take command of a stage. One of Jimi's most memorable solos in ' All along the Watchtower' is a guitar players dream to Clapton's subtle interlude in 'While my guitar gently weeps' will forever be engraved in the minds of guitarist's everywhere for years to come.
The answer is entirely subjective. You have to decide for yourself. I personally think Jimi Hendrix is better because of his style and ability to do things like play with his teeth. But ultimately it all depends on your style.
Although Clapton has received more honours, Hendrix is considered to be the greatest-ever guitarist in the genre of rock, so this puts them at a very close standoff. In the end, it comes down to personal preference
Its a matter of opinion.
