Sir Jerry Mataparae is the Governor-General of New Zealand. He was appointed by the Queen on the advice of Prime Minister John Key in August 2011.

The previous Governor-General was Sir Anand Satyanand. He was appointed into the role in 2006 by the Queen on the advice of Helen Clark, the Prime Minister at the time.
