∙ 10y agoAfter investigations in both the US and UK, it was concluded that the White Star Line was not to blame for the Titanic disaster. However, maritime practices of the period were widely criticized. As a consequence, sweeping changes were made in regards to protocol and safety (ie: better crew training on evacuations, the proper amount of lifeboats to carry all passengers and crew, round-the-clock monitoring on wireless aboard ships, etc.), more uniform regulations, and better monitoring of icebergs in the area.
