Why is Percy Jackson's name Perseus and not Theseus?
Percy Jackson was a demigod so his mother thought it would be appropriate to name him after a hero. However, she thought it bad luck to name him after someone who had a tragic, fatal ending. There was one hero, though, named Perseus. He was one of the only ones to live a long life and marry and become a father.
