Ronnie O'Sullivan
i still would of said Stephen hendry
The answer will be different depending on the subjectivity of the person who answers. In a recent survey by commentators it was agreed that Joe Davis followed by Steven Hendry and Steve Davis with John Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Pullman and Ray Reardon all featuring. Most would agree that for pure talent (his emotional temperament lets him down) Ronnie O'Sullivan is the greatest of all time. Joe Davis, Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis are/were much more emotionally disciplined.
Currently (Oct 2012) Ronnie O'Sullivan is world champion though he does not hold number 1 ranking.
Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy, Mark Allen, Ronnie O'Sullivan, (John Higgins) Neil Robertson. They are all top current players.
