From 2001 to 2006, Branden Steineckert was the drummer of The Used, but on September 12, 2006, The Used announced and confirmed that Branden was no longer a member of the band. They said they felt they needed to move forward without him, and that there was a personality conflict between Branden and another band member; however, they did say that they love Branden and wish him the best in whatever he does in the future. In late 2006, it was announced drummer Dan Whitesides of New Transit Direction would replace Steineckert. Whitesides continues to be their drummer to this day.

Avenged Sevenfold does not have a permanent new drummer, but Mike Portnoy helped them finish their album Nightmare.

The current drummer is Arin Ilejay, and personally, i saw him live with Avenged, and I think he is better than Portnoy was with Avenged. Portnoy with Dream Theatre is a TOTAL different story. (SPECTACULAR) I just feel Mike didn't fit the band. ANYWAY, Arin is an amazing drummer, not quite Jimmy (nothing can even come close to him) But there is talk he will be the new permanent drummer. But no guarantees

His name is Michael Pedicone. He is known to be bald but actually has a fade. He has joined the band when Bob Bryar, the drummer that recorded the album "The Black Parade", but left the band to spend more time with the rest of his family.

As of 2011, Arin Ilejay is filling in for the Rev on Avenged Sevenfold's Welcome to the Family tour. However, it has not been confirmed if he will be the permanent replacement for the Rev.
