John Brown's group raided Harper's Ferry Arsenal. Lee led a contingent of Marines to capture them. Brown was tried and hanged for treason.
Custard did not play a direct role in the capture of John Brown at Harpers Ferry. The capture occurred during his raid on the federal armory in October 1859, and Brown was ultimately apprehended by U.S. Marines led by Colonel Robert E. Lee. While there were various factors and individuals involved in his capture, custard itself was not among them.
John Brown was arrested by U.S. Marines commanded by Colonel Robert E. Lee during his raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia, in October 1859. Brown had attempted to incite a slave uprising by seizing the federal armory there. After a brief standoff, the Marines stormed the armory, capturing Brown and several of his followers. He was later tried and executed for his actions.
