Does anyone know? The marking on this shotgun only says, "Excelsior 77 Super". It is a beautiful shotgun, double barrell 20 guage with true wood stock and some engraving. Just trying to find out who made it and about how old it may be.
Easiest way is to make a cut out of the image and determine if it folds in half. The crease made by folding in half is the line of symmetry.
"Excelsior" was used by a few companies to designate an unusually high GRADE of rifle- very fancy wood and metal finish on high dolalr firearms, such as the Savage 99. The Whitney Company had one antique model designated as Excelsior.
Those jumps were made in 1959 and 1960
