Mary Poppins is a movie that has been around for since in the 90's I think. It's about this family that is falling apart. The dad is a banker and spends way too much time on his job. The mom is I think in a women's right march and doesn't spend any time with her kids. They have been hiring nannies for years and they all run away since the two kids, Michael and Jane Banks, are you naughty. They finally hire a super-nanny, Mary Poppins, and she fixes them up. Her friend Bert is a man with a lot of different and weird jobs. She and Bert help the kids realize what friendship means through a lot of adventures. One of them would be going through the chalk painting into another world. It's pretty cool, but I haven't watched it in awhile. Don't yell at me if i got it wrong..............
Well, the main thing about Mary Poppins is that Jane and Michael Banks were always ignored by their parents. But then Mary Poppins came in as their nanny and changed their lives and made the kid's parents recognize them.
Some of the characters in the movie are not found in the book- such as Jack of All trades- Bert ( the Dick Van Dyke character) All of the action takes place in London, England and environs ( a park, for example). like many Disney films there are some cheap shots taken at religion- they are on a walking tour of the City- and St. Paul"s Cathedral is little more than backdrop- She ( Mary) acknowedges the church exists- but.. turns on some cartoony magic and Her and the kids seek refuge from the weather ( it has started to rain) not in the church ( which would make sense)- but in some fantasy land park. that, by itself was a typical Disney Dig at Religion. There are overtones of Red in the landscape as well- veiled attacks at Bankers and Defence ( I am using the British spelling) types such as Admiral Boom.
