In fact, no one specifically saved the people on board. Alot of the lifeboats used were not occupied to their full capacity, as first class passengers wanted more room. Staff were lowering life boats.

Most peole were saved by another ship named RMS Carpathia. This ship wasn't nearby, that's why on their arrival some people were dead of the cold ocean. They still had a major role by saving lives.

When the Titanic sank one lifeboat came back under the command of Fith Officer Lowe to collect the passengers who had ended up in the sea. However, Lowe and his crew waited too long before going back and as such only picked up six of the passengers. After this ships such as the Carpathia took aboard the survivors in the boats and they were shipped to America.

There was a group of 8 men, called the Guarantee Group. These men were the top in their respective fields at the time. They were a few of the men who helped build the titanic. It was Guarantee Group's job to fix the titanic if anything went wrong. All 8 of these men died doing their job.

A fleet of ships within a 200-mile area had received the Titanic's distress signals, and began heading towards the doomed ship's last coordinates at full speed. The nearest ship, the Carpathia, although steaming ahead with all boilers lit, would not reach the lifeboats for several hours. . The Carpathia, Titanic's survivors' best hope of rescue, was steaming full ahead through the same ice field that sunk the giant, risking its own passengers and crew to save Titanic's.
