In fact, no one specifically saved the people on board. Alot of the lifeboats used were not occupied to their full capacity, as first class passengers wanted more room. Staff were lowering life boats.
Most peole were saved by another ship named RMS Carpathia. This ship wasn't nearby, that's why on their arrival some people were dead of the cold ocean. They still had a major role by saving lives.
