The Bible says everyone deserves eternal death because they have turned away from God, this is called sin. These verses from the Bible say that:
Romans 3:23 everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence.
Romans 3:24 But by the free gift of God's grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free.
To escape from eternal death a person must accept God's gift of salvation through His son.
