The name 'Pink Floyd' was thought up of on the spot by founding member and original frontman Syd Barrett. They had been calling themselves 'The Tea Set' in their early gigs, but as it happened another band with the same name went on stage before the Floyd using the same name. Pink Anderson and Floyd Council were two unrelated African-American Blues musicians from the Depression Era.
