Why did Cronus swallow Hades?

Why did cronus swallow his children? Let ME explain this better. Cronus was told that the next son he would have would kill him and rule the gods. So, cronus ate his 5 children. But his wife hid the last child and gave cronus a rock instead of Zues and when he was old enough he had metis create a potion that would make cronus spit up the children he had swallowed. After the gods/godesses were out of cronus they all fought him. The titans helped cronus. The ttans were sent to tartarus where they would be punished forever and Cronus was killed.

Who told Cronus that one of his children was going to overthrown him?

Cronus learned from Gaia and Uranus that he was destined to be overcome by his own son, just as he had overthrown his father. As a result, although he sired the gods Demeter, Hera, Hades, Hestia, and Poseidon by Rhea, he devoured them all as soon as they were born to preempt the prophecy. When the sixth child, Zeus, was born Rhea sought Gaia to devise a plan to save them and to eventually get retribution on Cronus for his acts against his father and children. Rhea secretly gave birth to Zeus in Crete, and handed Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes, also known as the Omphalos Stone, which he promptly devoured, thinking that it was his son. Once he had grown up, Zeus used a poison given to him by Gaia to force Cronus to disgorge the contents of his stomach in reverse order. After freeing his siblings, Zeus released the Gigantes, the Hecatonchires, and the Cyclopes, who forged for him his thunderbolts. In a vast war called the Titanomachy, Zeus and his brothers and sisters, with the help of the Gigantes, Hecatonchires, and Cyclopes, overthrew Cronus and the other Titans. Afterwards, many of the Titans were confined in Tartarus and the rest were punished.

How did Uranus lose his power?

Gaia told Cronus to cut off the genitals of Uranus. ^ This answer bugged me since it is so vague. You probably know that Uranus cast his children into the Tartarus. The Tartarus is in the deepest bowels of the Earth(Gaea/Gaia; doesn't matter which way you spell it). This caused Gaea, Uranus' wife an incredible amount of pain. In an effort to soothe the unending pain, she requested one of her children to castrate Uranus. Cronus accepted the task, and his mother gave him an adamantine sickle to cut of Uranus' genitals. That is how Cronus overthrew his father, Uranus.

Why did Cronus eat his children?

After he had killed his father, he became ruler and had six children with Rhea. Later he was informed that one of his kids would overthrow him like he did to his father. So to prevent it, he ate five of his children when Rhea was still pregnant with the last child Zeus. So she Feed him a stone instead of the baby and she sent Zeus off to be raised my a magical family.

Why does Cronus rebel against Uranus?

Khronos/Chronos/Cronos/Cronus/Kronos rebellied against his father Uranus not because he wanted the power, but to prove to his mother that he DESERVED the power. One day Gaea gave Khronos/Chronos/Cronos/Cronus/Kronos a sickle and told him to come and do away with his father. She invited him down to mate and then Khronos/Chronos/Cronos/Cronus/Kronos let him have it. The reason Gaea was so mad in the first place is because Uranus locked away her children, the monsters in Tartarus. Before Uranus was banished, he told Khronos/Chronos/Cronos/Cronus/Kronos that one of his children would rise and do the same to him. This came to pass just as fore told by the former sky god.

Where is Pluto god of deaths birthplace?

There aren't any surviving stories of the birth of Pluto but this one, which doesn't give a location:Pluto is one of Saturn's children. Saturn’s father, Caelus, told him he would be overthrown by one of his children. When Saturn and Ops decided to have children, Saturn knew he would be overthrown and he wasn’t going to let it happen. So to prevent it he swallowed each of the children whole as they were born. His first five children were Vesta, Ceres, Juno, Pluto, and Neptune. The sixth child, Jupiter, was spared, and he saved the other five.

How did rhea trick cronus from swallowing poseidon?

Rhea bore Cronus six children, of which he ate the first five right after birth, because he had been told that one of his offspring would dethrone him. When Rhea's sixth child, Zeus, was born, she gave Cronus a stone wrapped in cloth and hid the baby in a cave in Crete, where others raised him.

Which titans fought with cronus and which fought with Zeus?

All of the Titans, except for Metis, Rhea, and Gaia fought against Zeus in the clash against Cronus. The Titaness Metis gave Zeus the drink to make Cronus vomit up his swallowed children and later was wedded to Zeus. Rhea told Zeus how to kill/weaken Cronus because she couldn't bear his cruelty to her children anymore. Gaia actually cared for the young Zeus while her daughter Rhea tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock rather than the baby. These women stayed loyal to Zeus until the end of battle.
