God told Joshua to be strong and courageous. This message was repeated multiple times to give Joshua confidence and assurance as he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after the death of Moses.
In the first chapter of Joshua God says it four times.

God told Joshua to be brave and courageous.
Joshua was commissioned to lead God's people into Canaan after the death of Moses. God instructed Joshua to be strong and courageous, promising to be with him just as He was with Moses. Joshua successfully led the Israelites across the Jordan River and into the Promised Land.
